چکیده

Background Glucosinolates (GSLs) constitute a characteristic group of secondary metabolites present in the Brassica genus. These compounds confer resistance to pests and diseases. Moreover, they show allelopathic anticarcinogenic effects. All those effects are dependent on chemical structure GSL. The modification content specific GSLs would allow obtaining varieties with enhanced and/or improved health benefits. attainment same genetic background but divergent concentration will prompt undertaking studies their biological Objective Methods objective this study was evaluate efficacy two mass selection programs modify GSL leaves species: nabicol ( napus L.), selected by glucobrassicanapin (GBN), nabiza rapa gluconapin (GNA) through several cycles using cromatographic analysis. Results response fitted linear regression model no signs variability depletion for either direction, higher efficiency reducing than increasing. also effective other parts plant, suggesting that there is translocation plant or synthesis pathway not-organ specific. There an indirect GSL; thus information should be considered when designing breeding programs. Finally, populations obtained have agronomic performance even better original population. Conclusion Therefore, seems good method crops.

Phytochemical fingerprinting of vegetable Brassica oleracea and Brassica napus by simultaneous identification of glucosinolates and phenolics.

INTRODUCTION Brassica vegetables have been related to the prevention of cancer and degenerative diseases, owing to their glucosinolate and phenolic content. OBJECTIVE Identification of glucosinolates, flavonoids and hydroxycinnamic acids in representative varieties of kale, cabbage and leaf rape. METHODOLOGY One local variety of each crop was evaluated in this study using a multi-purpose ch...

Suppression of Specific Apple Root Pathogens by Brassica napus Seed Meal Amendment Regardless of Glucosinolate Content.

ABSTRACT The impact of Brassica napus seed meal on the microbial complex that incites apple replant disease was evaluated in greenhouse trials. Regardless of glucosinolate content, seed meal amendment at a rate of 0.1% (vol/vol) significantly enhanced growth of apple and suppressed apple root infection by Rhizoctonia spp. and Pratylenchus penetrans. High glucosinolate B. napus cv. Dwarf Essex s...

Quantitative trait loci for glucosinolate accumulation in Brassica rapa leaves.

Glucosinolates and their breakdown products have been recognized for their effects on plant defense, human health, flavor and taste of cruciferous vegetables. Despite this importance, little is known about the regulation of the biosynthesis and degradation in Brassica rapa. Here, the identification of quantitative trait loci (QTL) for glucosinolate accumulation in B. rapa leaves in two novel se...

Characteristics Analysis of F1 Hybrids between Genetically Modified Brassica napus and B. rapa

A number of studies have been conducted on hybridization between transgenic Brassica napus and B. rapa or backcross of F1 hybrid to their parents. However, trait changes must be analyzed to evaluate hybrid sustainability in nature. In the present study, B. rapa and transgenic (BrAGL20) B. napus were hybridized to verify the early flowering phenomenon of F1 hybrids, and F1 hybrid traits were ana...
